Mando

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/search/zambia/

Mando is a significant Luyana name which means feathers. It depicts speed or short lived, short duration, untimely disappearance. In the past an individual whose children would not grow beyond infant age, surviving the odds of nature, was named Mando. A good example of this was an Induna or cabinet minister at Nalolo many years ago. Mando resonates with Akabiwa, which entails something deeper than a nickname and is known as Lilumbatina. Therefore, there is a parallel between Mando and Akabiwa.

The Litunga of Barotseland, then Mulambwa also had a son named Mando who is believed to have given his wife over to his young brother Litia. The new couple became recipients of a set of twins, Lubosi and Matauka. Even though Litia was assassinated and never became Litunga, his children grew in favor with the people. When the people of Barotseland needed a leader they turned to Lubosi who later became known as Liwanika and proved to be a formidable Litunga. Liwanika is a Luyana name which means to unite. Lubosi is populary known for uniting Nations, tribes and peoples. His sister also ruled at Nalolo, the southern part of the Kingdom. Mulambwa had many more children like Mubukwanu, Silumelume and so on.
