The Objectives (Check the Bylaws and Constitution of Barotseland Peace Foundation) BAPF here,  include but not limited to; Restoration of peace and tranquility in the land, to inspire our people and to remind them of their potential which is needed for development. Also to empower our community and equip men and women with knowledge and the means necessary for entrepreurship and  Micro business initiatives. Further to educate our young and old and bring awareness of the dangers of HIV/Aids and Malaria and thus, probe into finding a cure for Aids and a vaccine for Malaria. Lastly, to collaborate with the international community in regard to sustainable development, poverty reduction and capacity building.

It is also important that through Self-Determination we preserve our cherished culture and social structure for future generations to come. just imagine if our ancestors did not sacrifice and work hard to preserve what we claim as ours today, would we have anything really? We would have absolutely nothing to pass on to our grandchildren and our great great grandchildren. Someone once said: "A Nation that does not invest in the future of its young is a dead Nation." We cannot love ourselves too much to leave no seed for propagational progression. Otherwise we hate ourselves. May be we need to evaluate our accomplishments as a people, and ask the following:  What is it that we can say we have fought for and preserved in our generation, which we can proudly say, had it not been for us the same would have been lost?

Are we being too careful here that in the process we are losing everything due us? Even in the Bible, Jesus in the Book of John 12:25, alludes to salvific value of life in the context of sacrifice: "He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life" Losing here is not necessarily hating life, more than placing more value on what you desire to preserve. While the context of this verse implies Self-denial for Christ's sake, it also teaches us a lesson that through the success and prosperity of our children after we are long gone, our desires, aspirations and wishes can be preserved. Hence, preservation of our posterity is worthy dying for. Our forefathers died for it because they loved us. Jesus died for it because He loved us. We must die for it if we love our children and our great grandchildren. In Latin they say; "Sudo et sanguines pro patrea." Sweat and blood for motherland. Even if we don't die fighting for our Human rights, we still die anyway, without a fight, from sufferings associated with lack of development, medical facilities, and infrastructure.
